Almost everything. By law, I may need to break confidentiality in three specific situations: 1) If there’s a serious and/or imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. 2) In cases of suspected child abuse or neglect. 3) In cases of suspected abuse of a vulnerable adult. I’ll always discuss this with you first when possible, and I’ll explain these limits clearly in our intake session and and as needed. Beyond these rare exceptions, everything you share stays between us.

We’ll spend about 15 minutes on a phone call. I’ll ask you what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping for. You can ask me anything about my approach, experience, or what therapy looks like. If it feels like a good fit we’ll schedule an intake assessment. If not, I’ll help point you toward someone who might be a better match.

There’s no threshold you have to meet. People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons: feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Navigating a specific challenge like a break-up or loss; wanting to understand themselves better; or simply feeling like something isn’t right and wanting support to figure it out. The free consultation is a great way to explore whether therapy makes sense for you — no commitment required.

It varies. Some people work on a specific issue and feel ready to wrap up in 3-6 months. Others find therapy valuable as an ongoing support and work together for a year or more. We’ll check in regularly about how things are going and adjust as needed. There’s no minimum commitment or set timeline. It’s up to you.
Most clients start with weekly sessions, as you make progress, we might space to every other week or monthly. We’ll figure out what works for your schedule, budget, and needs.

I work with teens 12 and up. I involve caregivers as needed while protecting the teen’s privacy and therapeutic space. For clients under 18, a caregiver joins the intake session so we’re all aligned.

Yes- Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy produces outcomes equal to in-person therapy for most concerns. Many clients find it easier to open up from their own space. The therapeutic relationship — the trust and connection between us — matters far more than whether we’re in the same room or on a screen.
Please note I’m licensed in Alaska so you must be physically in the state at the time of our session.

I use SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform designed specifically for healthcare. It’s secure, encrypted, and easy to use. To use you need a device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private space.
If we get disconnected I’ll try to reconnect. If that doesn’t work, we’ll switch to a phone call to finish the session.

I’m a private practice which means I only accept cash/card and don’t bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill — detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

I require 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. This isn’t punitive — it’s about protecting the session time set aside for you.
